Working from home means there is so much more to distract you… (Yes, I see all that sock mathcing going on… I see it in my home, I see it in your home!)
Here is a simple coaching technique to hack the brain’s procrastination system!
It’s called deliberate procrastinaion and it helps your brain to get motivated and finally tick those things off your list that you keep putting off.
It’s a simple 3 step process to get procrastination working FOR you, instead of against you:
- Step 1: Make a conscious choice to do something else, something fun!
- Step 2: Let go of the task you ‘should’ be completing for a set amount of time.
- Step 3: Then, set a timer to get back to what you “need” to achieve later in the day.
Listen to more on ‘deliberate procrastination’ via this extract from a masterclass I gave last year above.
Once you have made a concious choice to scratched that procrastination itch, your mind is much more able to focus on the task that is important.
To add to this, your coaching question for this week is;
How is NOT completing that important thing (or making that important decision) serving you?
As Joan Konner once said; “Procrastination always gives you something to look forward to.” What comes up for you?
If no-one else tells you today, let me be the one to tell you – I’m grateful for you. Thank you for being part of what motivates me, and thank you for being a part of my world!
