I have been getting tons of questions from you all about why we are called High Definition You. Spoiler alert, it’s not about high definition eyebrows! Have you seen my eyebrows?! No!
It might have something to do with a TV, a footballer and some blades of grass! But I’ve already said too much! Check out this week’s video to see how the name came to me and what I hope it will mean for you.
Your standard channel is totally watchable I’m sure. But, in a noisy world, with so many channels to watch – how will you stand out? How can you take back control and get your message across in the most memorable, focussed and dynamic way?
Your standard channel is totally watchable I’m sure. But, in a noisy world, with so many channels to watch – how will you stand out? How can you take back control and get your message across in the most memorable, focussed and dynamic way?
How can you switch from the standard you to a high definition you?!
Here are 4 steps to a High Definition You:
- 1. Reflect on what your channel is. There’s a big difference between the BBC and CNBC. What do you believe it is already?
- 2. Request real feedback from others. How would they describe you? Don’t rely on one person’s view – get more than one opinion.
Remember: Communication is not what is intended, it’s what is received!
- 3. Review any gaps between points 1 and 2. Now, here’s the opportunity to take back control and step it up. Decide…. what could your High Definition channel be?
- 4. ACT. It is your behaviour not your intention that will define you. Consciously choose one moment where you want to stand out in high definition. How will you behave differently?
Rinse and repeat from Step 1. Remember you aiming for your continuous improvement!

My challenge for you this week is: Take notice of other people. How would you describe them? Getting better at understanding how the behaviour of those around you influences how you’d describe them, will make you better at noticing and refining your own behaviour.
I’ve always loved people watching and this week I’m going to really take note of the other entrepreneurs I’m meeting at a couple of events. I’m sure I will learn a lot about them and myself in the process.

Finally, if no one else tells you today, let me be the one to tell you I’m grateful for you. Thank you for letting me be a part of your day and thank you for being a part of my world.
With gratitude,
